Artisan Sourdough
Wild-fermented, stone-milled, and baked in our deck oven until the crust sings. Each loaf carries the character of its slow rise — tangy, complex, deeply satisfying.
Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Artisan breads, handcrafted pastries & wholesome pantry staples —
baked fresh daily at 2130 O'Neal Ln.
Our Story
Jump Start Nutrition began with a simple conviction: the people of Baton Rouge deserve a bakery that treats every loaf, every pastry, and every ingredient as an act of care.
We are not a chain. We are not a franchise. We are neighbors — bakers, millers, and pantry curators who believe that what you put on your table matters. Every morning, our ovens fire before the city wakes. Every evening, we sweep the flour from the floor knowing we fed someone's family well.
Our sourdoughs rise slowly. Our pastries are laminated by hand. Our pantry shelves hold only what we would serve our own tables. That is the standard we set for ourselves — and the promise we keep every single day.
What We Offer
Every item is crafted in small batches, using time-honored techniques and ingredients you can pronounce.
Wild-fermented, stone-milled, and baked in our deck oven until the crust sings. Each loaf carries the character of its slow rise — tangy, complex, deeply satisfying.
Croissants, danishes, and tarts folded layer by layer with European butter. Flaky, golden, and made from scratch before dawn — because shortcuts have no place here.
Small-batch flours, cold-pressed oils, heritage grains, and seasonal preserves — sourced from growers we know and trust. Everything we stock earns its place on our shelves.
Spelt, einkorn, rye, and other heritage grains shaped into loaves that honor tradition and nourish the body. Nutty, substantial, and deeply flavorful.
Birthdays, anniversaries, milestones — we bake and decorate cakes to order. Tell us the occasion, and we will craft something memorable.
Baguettes, focaccia, dinner rolls, and ciabatta — the breads that make ordinary dinners extraordinary. Always fresh, always warm from the oven.
Our Philosophy
Our doughs rest for 24 to 48 hours. Patience builds flavor, structure, and digestibility — nothing shortcuts this process.
We source from regional millers and growers. If we cannot trace an ingredient to its origin, it does not belong in our bakery.
We hire locally, support local farms, and give back to Baton Rouge neighborhoods. A bakery belongs to its community — not the other way around.
